Law of Inertia-An object will tend to stay in motion at the same speed in the same direction unless acted upon by an outside force.Movement with deceleration (loading like a rubber band) and it ends with deceleration. Gravity and ground reaction forces are the outside forces that will effect movement, but the body needs a reason to move (preprogrammed movement patterns/road directions). Training that does not include changes in direction and speed results in a body that does not know why it should move, how, and where. It takes .5-.8 seconds to produce maximal force (absolute strength). Movement (function) requires us to produce a response with .05-.3 seconds. Thus making traditional modalities of training a waste of time as well as a disfunction and disservice.
